Anti-embolism stockings – who should wear them?

One proven method is to wear compression stockings and anti-varicose knee-highs. Thanks to their specially designed construction, which aims to compress the entire leg (most strongly around the ankle, gradually reducing the level of compression towards the thigh), enlarged blood vessels (veins) return to their normal size under pressure, and blood flow is also stimulated. Blood circulates in the veins as it should – which in turn affects blood pressure regulation. Anti-varicose stockings and knee-highs with the same purpose have many advantages – who should be interested in them?
Compression stockings – varicose vein prevention for the elderly
With age, blood vessel walls weaken and thin. Blood flowing through them strikes the veins under pressure, further straining their structure. This means that older people are physiologically susceptible to varicose veins in their legs. It is worth preventing them, as this is one of many health problems that can affect both the senior's general condition and the development of other ailments – such as atherosclerosis or blood pressure problems.
Anti-varicose knee-highs or compression stockings will therefore be an excellent gift idea for a mother or grandmother – by wearing them, they will feel significant pain relief, and additionally forget about the feeling of heavy legs. Anti-varicose stockings are available in many different colors, although they are usually relatively thick – models with an effective, compressing action start from about 40 den. If a person prefers trousers, there is no need to buy full stockings – anti-varicose knee-highs will suffice.

Varicose veins in the legs are a problem that affects many seniors – that's why it's worth giving them compression stockings that reduce pain and swelling
Varicose veins at a young age – who do they most often affect?
Varicose veins at a young age are increasingly common. A sedentary lifestyle, lack of physiological movement (such as walking, swimming, or running), and a poor diet leading to overweight or obesity – this is a recipe for weakening vein walls, blood pressure problems, or atherosclerosis. These are also indirect causes of varicose veins in the legs, which affect people at an increasingly younger age.
Unfortunately, young age does not protect against varicose veins. The factors mentioned earlier, as well as the influence of other, temporary conditions (such as pregnancy or inability to move – for example, after surgery) mean that the problem of varicose veins can affect everyone – women and men, younger and older people. That's why prevention is so important. In addition to exercise, a proper diet, and an adequate dose of physiological movement, it also includes wearing anti-varicose stockings.
