Very dry skin after summer? I have a solution for that!

Proper leg and foot care in autumn and winter
Flaky skin, cracked and rough heels, and very dry skin all over the body... these are the problems we most often face in early autumn. Why does this happen? Are there ways to quickly restore skin's smoothness, softness, and radiance?
Of course, there are – solving these problems is easier than you think. You just need to ensure proper body hydration, both externally and internally. The first step to rebuilding the protective layer of the epidermis is to increase the amount of fluids consumed during the day (especially mineral water and herbal teas). The second step is proper leg and foot care – very dry skin requires special treatment, so it needs comprehensive attention. A leg scrub, lotion, and foot cream will be useful, but... how to choose them and how often to perform moisturizing treatments? Read on!
Leg and foot scrub – don't be afraid to do it!
Foot and leg care should always include exfoliation of dead skin – surprisingly, even very dry skin requires it. If dead skin is not regularly exfoliated, it can cause ingrown hairs and unsightly, spontaneous flaking of the epidermis. Moreover, regular leg and foot scrubs make subsequently applied lotions and creams absorb better, and the skin gains a healthy glow and complexion.
Our skin is exposed to drying factors in summer – UV radiation, frequent showers, salty sea water – all of this adversely affects it. Skin care after summer, including exfoliation, is therefore a necessity. Such a treatment should be performed no less than 2-3 times a week. A leg scrub can be made at home, just like a foot scrub. Simply choose a shower gel with your favorite scent and add coffee grounds to it (the caffeine in them stimulates circulation and helps fight cellulite), as well as sugar or Himalayan salt. Salt is particularly recommended for foot care, as – in addition to its exfoliating effect – it also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties.

In summer, walking on sand is a natural exfoliant – but what kind of scrub should you do in autumn?
When it comes to ready-made scrubs for leg and foot care, we should pay attention to their composition when choosing them. Look for those that contain natural oils (coconut, Brazil nut, macadamia, or sweet almond), and avoid formulas enriched with paraffin – a petroleum derivative that gives a false feeling of skin hydration and can clog pores, causing pimples and breakouts. And what should skin care after summer look like in terms of hydration?
Leg lotion and foot cream – which to choose in autumn and winter?
Leg lotion and moisturizing foot cream are cosmetics that should be in our bathroom all year round. However, skin care after summer requires products that are rich in intensely hydrating and smoothing ingredients. So, what should a leg lotion contain? First of all, just like with a foot scrub – natural oils. In addition, it is worth looking for glycerin and urea in the ingredients, which have strong moisturizing properties. From time to time, you can replace leg lotion with baby oil, which contains vitamin E and improves skin elasticity.

Instead of leg lotion, you can also use coconut oil!
Very dry skin on the feet also needs hydration. The best foot creams are those with urea and natural extracts of mint or green tea – such a combination will make feet smooth and at the same time prevent excessive sweating. Foot care can also include highly nourishing masks that can be made at home – simply apply a thick layer of moisturizing foot cream to your feet and put on clean, cotton socks. Go to sleep with such a mask, and in the morning you can admire truly spectacular results!
