New Year's Eve is approaching, followed by Carnival. Many women are looking for unique outfits that will be perfect for these occasions. Most often, these outfits are based on a glamorous or slightly more modest dress. How to spice up such a set with an unusual accessory? I always choose stockings, which are currently underestimated by many ladies. With this post, I would like to change that and convince many of you to wear stockings.

Why do so many women still not want to wear stockings – with a belt, self-supporting or with a garter? Because they believe they are uncomfortable. That's not true! It's worth sometimes giving up ordinary tights in favor of this original accessory, because it is precisely this that adds femininity to us – and although probably no one will notice that we are wearing stockings, they will give us self-confidence and verve. Self-supporting stockings

Self-supporting stockings are the most popular model of this accessory. They are characterized by silicone strips usually placed in their upper part (the one that adheres to the thigh), holding the stocking in the right place on the leg. However, many women have a problem with stockings starting to fall down after some time and not staying on their thighs as they did before. Why does this happen?

First, when buying self-supporting stockings, you should pay attention to their quality. It is worth opting for models made in Italy – this is where women love to wear stockings, so manufacturers ensure that their products are of high quality. In addition, you should pay attention to the composition – stockings with added elastane will fit beautifully on the legs and will not lose their shape, even after many washes.

Second – the care of self-supporting stockings is just as important as their quality. The silicone strips that hold the accessory on the leg will not lose their properties if you hand wash the stockings in warm water with a mild detergent. Drying also plays a significant role in the condition of the stockings – they should be clipped to a line or dryer by the part that is on the thigh – so that the leg can dry freely. Clipping self-supporting stockings upside down can cause them to stretch and deform.

Stockings with a garter belt

Stockings with a garter belt are an incredibly sexy accessory that adds femininity. In their case, attention should also be paid to the quality of workmanship and the way they are cared for – just like with self-supporting stockings. The garter belt variant is ideal for flared dresses in the 1950s style, but it's worth giving it up when wearing a tight dress, because the garter belt can show through the material, which unfortunately doesn't look very aesthetic.

Many women worry that stockings with a garter belt are an uncomfortable combination. Nothing could be further from the truth! However, it's worth getting a good quality garter belt, which should be properly positioned at the waist, not on the hips. Additionally, women with slightly larger hips can slim them down with special belts that surround both the stomach and other sensitive parts of the female figure. Stockings with a garter belt are therefore truly very comfortable, and additionally – when properly chosen – they serve our figure better than many slimming corsets!

For true connoisseurs of women's fashion, I recommend combining stockings with garters. This combination, just like stockings with a garter belt, gives us confidence and is incredibly sexy. Currently, a garter almost always serves only an ornamental function – whether at a wedding or a prom. However, it's worth giving it a chance and returning to its original function, which is to hold the stocking in place.

When buying stockings for garters, it is of course worth paying attention to their quality – as with other models. You can simply buy stockings with a garter belt – they will work just as well with a garter. As for the garter itself, you should look for it in good quality lingerie stores, because only there can you buy beautiful garters that actually hold the stocking on the thigh, and not just serve aesthetic functions.
