How to wash tights?

Don't let anyone convince you that sheer tights are single-use; if you opt for high-quality tights, you can easily wash them in a washing machine. If you don't want them to get damaged during washing, use laundry bags made of thin material. A pillowcase will also work perfectly for this, if it doesn't have an exposed zipper. Wash tights at a low temperature (maximum 30 degrees Celsius) and do not spin them intensely. You can also opt for hand washing: add laundry detergent to lukewarm water and gently rub, especially the foot part. After hand washing or machine washing, lay the tights flat between two towels – if you hang them on a drying rack, they may stretch excessively. Gentle handling of tights during washing and drying will make them last much longer.
Which tights are suitable for washing?
The best tights for washing are those made of high-quality polyester and polyamide. These materials provide a high level of elasticity and reduce the risk of damage to the tights during daily wear and washing. It is worth noting that only some models of tights are suitable for reuse and washing. Slightly thicker tights will be suitable for machine washing using a special bag. The most commonly cared-for models are those with a thickness of 30 DEN to 120 DEN. The thicker the material, the lower the risk of damage and the greater the chance of wearing the tights again after washing them in a home washing machine.
Of course, you can also opt for hand washing, but there is a slightly higher risk of damaging the tights. Often, just snagging a tight with your fingernail can result in a damaged run. If you do decide to wash your tights, remember to avoid stretching them. It is not advisable to use mechanical dryers or washer-dryers to dry them – the tights could shrink, while hanging them to dry could cause them to stretch.
