Tights thickness – denier, toeless tights, gusset in tights – what's it all about?

All About Tights!
Sometimes it happens that a partner asks her man for a small favor, for example... to buy tights. She tells him that they need to be a specific denier, that he should definitely pay attention to whether the gusset in the tights is strong, and additionally, to buy fishnets as a backup... It's easy to get lost in all that, right?
I prepared today's post for all men who get lost in the world of women's tights and have no idea how to distinguish their individual elements. This will also be valuable information for girls entering the world of fashion and style and wanting to emphasize their feminine curves with the addition of well-chosen tights.

Tights or Stockings? That is the Question!
Many men may have trouble distinguishing tights from stockings. To clear up any doubts once and for all, I'll explain the most important difference: tights encompass not only a woman's legs but also her hips, while stockings end roughly in the middle of the thighs. Furthermore, stockings are divided into self-supporting models (they usually have silicone strips sewn into the thigh-hugging band, holding the stocking to the skin) and models for garter belts. Such a belt is worn on the hips, and the ribbons attached to it, ending in clips (fasteners), hold the stocking material on the thigh.

Tights or stockings? Distinguishing them is not difficult at all!
There are also tights on the market that imitate stockings with characteristic strap prints for a garter belt. Before buying, it's worth making sure whether the package actually contains stockings, or perhaps tights imitating stockings – this is a big visual difference that matters greatly to almost all women.
Tights Thickness – Denier as a Measure
Tights thickness – denier – is an indicator of how sheer the tights will be, how much skin will show through them, and how warm they will keep the wearer. But how do you get a handle on specific deniers and how do you choose a specific denier level in tights to make them look exactly how you want? Here's a guide for beginners.
A denier level of up to 10-15 in tights means they are almost invisible. These are extremely sheer models suitable for formal occasions – for office work, meetings – especially in summer, when it's not appropriate not to wear tights, and thicker material causes discomfort.
Tights thickness up to 20-22 denier means their resistance to damage is slightly greater than the model discussed above. They are also transparent (in a nude version) or semi-sheer (in black or gray). These tights are ideal for late summer, early spring, and autumn.
Lightly opaque models correspond to a tights denier thickness of 30-40 – such items are also ideal for cooler evenings or office work, as well as family celebrations.
A denier level of 60 to 80 in tights means they are almost completely opaque (this, of course, depends on the circumference of the leg – in the widest part, on the thigh, they may show through a little). This model will appeal especially to those who want to visually slim their legs, as matte opaque tights in dark colors paired with shoes and a skirt of the same color lengthen and slim the entire silhouette.

Tights without a gusset, toeless tights…
Specific construction features of some tights or stockings models can also be difficult for a layman to recognize. One of these is the gusset in tights, which increases wearing comfort. It is a piece of material (most often cotton) placed in the panty area. Tights without a gusset are, in turn, more delicate and less visible under a tight dress or skirt, but they are also more prone to damage.
Toeless tights can also cause confusion. This is a special model produced for ladies who love to wear open-toe shoes (so-called peep-toe). Regular tights look bad in such shoes, as the reinforcement of the material in that part of the foot and the seam running along the toes are visible. That is why toeless tights were designed – which are adapted to wearing this type of footwear. They have an opening through which the toes protrude from the tights leg and look beautiful in open-toe shoes.
