Which Italian slopes do I recommend and what ski clothing should you take on your trip?

The winter holiday season is fast approaching. The most popular activity at this time of year is, of course, skiing. Today I will tell you about essentials for those who love winter madness: ski clothing and Italian slopes. Happy reading!

Ski clothing changes from year to year, and currently, it's not just functional and comfortable, but also figure-flattering, eye-catching, and... simply stylish. Nevertheless, when choosing an outfit for the slopes, you need to ensure that it primarily fulfills its basic function – protecting us from the cold. However, this is not as difficult as it might seem. Currently, we can buy truly fashionable ski clothes that, on the one hand, do not distort the figure, and on the other hand, wonderfully retain warmth and provide wearing comfort. In addition to ski clothes, thermal underwear is extremely important, as it insulates the body from adverse conditions. It must be made in such a way that it quickly wicks away water (which causes a cold sensation on the skin) and does not increase sweating.

Slope fashion, ski underwear – a winter must-have!

Slope fashion is primarily about finding a happy medium. On the one hand, it's worth making sure that one of the elements of our wardrobe has a distinct, easy-to-spot color, and on the other hand, we no longer have to wear bright jumpsuits – because once, ski clothing manufacturers only offered us such models. The optimal solution is to choose distinctive trousers and a subdued jacket – or vice versa.

As I mentioned earlier, thermal underwear is a very important issue. It is thanks to it that we feel warm and comfortable. Therefore, it is worth getting insulated leggings, which will be perfect for winter fun. Remember also that ski leggings should not press too tightly on your legs – during such exertion, joints (especially the ankle area) may swell a bit, so pressure will become uncomfortable. What else does ski underwear include? In addition to insulated leggings, a thermal shirt, wicking away excess moisture – necessarily with long sleeves – will be useful, so that in case of a fall, snow does not get under your ski clothing.

Italian slopes – which ones are worth choosing for a winter holiday?

Skiing in Italy is an amazing experience. In addition to my advice on ski leggings, thermal shirts, and other ski clothing, I would like to share my observations on the most beautiful Italian slopes. Which ones do I recommend?

• The first choice, when it comes to Italian slopes, and above all – the Italian Dolomites – should be the Madonna di Campiglio ski resort, located at an altitude of about 1500 meters. It has everything that both avid skiers and beginners need. These Italian slopes can accommodate up to 30,000 people per hour, cover 150 kilometers of downhill runs, and additionally – for those who prefer cross-country skiing – they have 40 kilometers of relatively flat trails.

• It's worth visiting the famous ski resort – Cortina d’Ampezzo – at least once in your life. This is where some scenes in 007 films were shot. The resort covers over 100 kilometers of downhill runs of varying difficulty, so every skiing enthusiast will surely find something for themselves here. The resort is located near the Austrian border. Interestingly, these Italian slopes are used for organizing the ski cup games.

• The third ski resort worth visiting in Italy is Predazzo. It is located near Trento, in the Val di Fiemme valley. There are 123 kilometers of downhill runs of various difficulty levels, and in the meantime, in Predazzo, you can see the famous ski jumping hills where Adam Małysz and Kamil Stoch won gold medals (in 2003 and 2013).

The trend for Italian slopes never fades – and rightly so, because they are some of the best ski runs in the world!
