Motivation for exercise in autumn: how to get it and keep it?

When it gets colder outside and days become shorter, our motivation to exercise also drops. How to regain it when the weather outside doesn't encourage physical activity, and a warm blanket, cocoa, and a TV series marathon seem like the best way to spend a chilly afternoon or evening? I invite you to read on!
Running in autumn or working out at the gym might seem like an abstract idea to some. It's widely known that the best way to spend cool evenings is watching movies and TV series or reading a book under a warm blanket. And if you add crispy snacks, rain tapping on the windowsill, and mulled wine, this vision seems like the only right option. Nothing could be further from the truth! Autumn (even a grey and gloomy one) is the perfect time to continue or start physical activity. How to motivate yourself? First, you need to find the perfect workout for yourself. And I'm not talking about long-distance running in autumn or daily gym exercises. The first step to regaining motivation is to realize that activity can have... a light version, specially prepared for autumn. An additional motivator for me is always buying a new workout outfit – a beautiful, comfortable, sports bra and figure-slimming leggings for exercise can't just sit in the closet and wait until spring. Get yourself new workout clothes, and you'll certainly find it easier to take on the challenge of autumn activity!
Autumn Running – a great way to oxygenate your body and improve fitness
It is certainly worth running in autumn, as this activity offers many benefits: you can oxygenate your body and brain (which then works better), slim your figure, and improve your fitness. As I mentioned before – to avoid getting discouraged from exercising, it's worth doing it in a light version. You don't have to run a marathon right away to feel the positive effects of activity.
Design your workout as you like. I recommend slow jogging, which is gaining increasing popularity. It's slow, walking-pace running that engages various muscle groups. Furthermore, such a slow run doesn't strain the joints as much as a regular full-throttle workout, and even beginners or those struggling with extra pounds or poor fitness can practice it. To motivate yourself even more for autumn running, it's worth getting appropriate outdoor workout clothes – I'm talking about insulated leggings that will provide thermal comfort even in low temperatures. If you want to look fashionable and optically slim your legs, opt for opaque leggings with side stripes. As I mentioned earlier, one of my motivators is always new workout clothes – and among them, workout leggings!

Insulated leggings for running – they'll work best in autumn!
Home workout – when it's getting colder outside...
It's always worth getting new workout clothes as motivation – even when you plan to exercise... in the comfort of your own home! Calm yoga sequences at home, exercise on a stationary bike, or an endurance session using resistance bands are a great opportunity to jump into flexible opaque leggings and indulge in an endorphin frenzy! In my opinion, clothes for home workouts should be primarily nice and comfortable. And I don't necessarily mean stretched-out t-shirts or loose sweatpants. Yoga at home or fitness practiced on a mat often requires changes in position, bends, jumps... So, it's best to get a fairly tight t-shirt and high-waisted workout leggings. Only such an outfit will provide adequate comfort without constantly adjusting a rolled-up t-shirt or shorts falling at the waist.
Home workout is an excellent solution when motivation to exercise in autumn is really low. The thing is, at home there are almost no excuses – you just need to turn on a YouTube video with your favorite yoga sequence or hop on a stationary bike – that's it! And after the workout, you can take a refreshing shower and create a home spa for yourself, which in itself is an extremely pleasant form of relaxation!

Yoga at home is one of the best autumn activities that can be done without much effort.
Group motivation – try gym workouts!
For those who feel that autumn running, fitness, or home yoga are not for them, I recommend trying gym workouts. Regarding lost motivation, they have one undeniable advantage – you have to pay for them (often in advance) to participate in group classes or use a personal trainer's care. And therein lies the whole secret – if we've already paid for something, it would be a shame to simply lose that money, right? When you decide to take this step, choose classes adapted to your level of advancement and preferences. For sociable people whose motivation increases with the presence of others, group classes will be best – fitness, indoor cycling, pole dance, or zumba. Introverts, on the other hand, will certainly find their place in the free weights and machines zone, where they can do both cardio and strength training.
Workout leggings with a reinforced panel sewn around the abdomen, paired with a comfortable t-shirt made of breathable material, will work great at the gym. Remember to choose opaque leggings – that is, ones through which underwear will not be visible when doing bends or deep squats. That's all – now you just need to buy the right pass!

Opaque leggings are a must-have for autumn gym workouts.
