Autumn and winter outfits – what accessories to choose during the colder months to look stylish?

Winter or autumn outfits don't have to be boring at all! I have a few ways to make them warm, comfortable, and at the same time look original and fashionable. Why am I writing about this? Because I realize that many of you don't know how to elevate your autumn and winter sets. We often wear classic, black skinny jeans, dark wool coats, and grey sweaters – further emphasizing the unpleasant weather outside.

In my opinion, the key element of winter or autumn styling, which can transform the entire outfit, are appropriately chosen accessories. However, I'm not talking about hats, scarves, or handbags – these accessories are usually bought in neutral patterns and colors so that they match many outfits and styles. I'm talking about those wardrobe elements that make us feel feminine, yet at ease and comfortable – because only such a combination guarantees a stylish look. Warm vest – over a coat or under a jacket

One of the accessories I choose to complement my autumn or winter outfits is a warm vest. I have several designs in my wardrobe that can be used for various occasions. The thinnest of them, a denim one, suits rock-style outfits. It will look great with a simple long-sleeve top, black skinny jeans, comfortable block-heeled ankle boots and a biker jacket or – in a warmer version – with a long wool coat. Another option, completely casual, which can be used for weekend trips to the forest or for walks, is a quilted, down, warm vest. It's important that its filling is made of real down – and not just polyester, because only down can provide adequate thermal comfort.

Another suggestion is a long, wool, and warm vest in a neutral – grey or black – color. Thanks to its subdued color, it can serve as a background for other, more expressive wardrobe elements. This model looks best when worn over a white shirt or an elegant, pencil dress. The last item I recommend is a warm faux fur vest. You can choose one in subdued colors, but I recommend something crazy (red, bottle green, or a mix of colors). I like to wear it most over a coat – it then adds an interesting touch to autumn outfits, and also provides an extra layer of protection against wind and cold.

Feminine bodysuit – elegant and warm

The feminine bodysuit is an item of clothing that most of us have forgotten about – our mothers and grandmothers used to wear them, and now – fortunately – they are timidly coming back into fashion. Thanks to a bodysuit, you can easily shape your figure, highlight its assets and conceal its flaws. Moreover, a feminine bodysuit can be styled in several ways, and it also provides thermal comfort because it doesn't expose your back even during an active day!

In my wardrobe, there are two types of feminine bodysuits that I simply adore: one of them is a classic, form-fitting suit, imitating a black, elegant long-sleeved blouse. This model goes perfectly with flared and tight skirts because it doesn't show through the fabric. The second model is a feminine bodysuit imitating a blouse – a shirt-style one, with a wrap neckline, or a more daring one – a lace one, for the evening. It suits high-waisted trousers above all – both tailored trousers and skinny jeans or boyfriends.

Socks with pearls, tights-over-the-knee socks... everything around the legs!

Fashionable accessories for autumn or winter styling also include all those wardrobe elements that can decorate our legs – and I'm not talking about skirts or trousers, but about decorative tights, leggings (with lace or classic ones) or tights-socks with various applications. Decorative tights can have smaller or larger patterns, flat or structural designs, as well as the addition of lurex, i.e. metallic yarn. A great accessory that diversifies everyday autumn outfits are also tights-over-the-knee socks. Their unique design, imitating this part of the wardrobe, makes the legs appear longer, and at the same time keeps us warm, because tights-over-the-knee socks are largely thicker than ordinary, thin models. In addition, I recommend getting thick shaping tights. In autumn and winter, we have many opportunities to wear skirts and dresses – family celebrations, Christmas, New Year's Eve and the entire carnival are an excellent opportunity to test tights on your own figure!

An element that also complements my autumn and winter outfits are lace leggings and classic, black, opaque models. I usually wear them when I spend the day at home and when I want to be warm and comfortable. In addition, I also recommend all kinds of tights-socks, which look great with all kinds of ankle boots and low shoes. My favorite are socks with pearls, which brilliantly emphasize even the simplest styling.

Stylish ankle boots – versatile shoes for everyday and special occasions

The last element I'd like to draw attention to when composing winter and autumn outfits are stylish ankle boots. How to choose them? I'll return for a moment to what I've already written in this article: a woman will look good in a given outfit only if she feels comfortable. Footwear is largely responsible for comfort – that's why you should choose them for your outfit so that walking in them doesn't cause foot pain and chafing. My proven model are stylish ankle boots with a relatively low, but also thick heel. You can choose those that rather take the form of Chelsea boots or – the most fashionable this season – cowboy boots. For everyday wear, on the other hand, I honestly recommend ankle boots with the appearance of trappers – they are warm, stable, do not slip on uneven, icy ground and have not gone out of fashion for several seasons now!

Stylish ankle boots are an accessory that will add a few centimeters to you, optically lengthen your legs and complete the entire outfit!
