Bicycle outfits – how to wear them?

For many of you, cycling outfits for spring and summer are usually limited to trousers and shorts. But it doesn't have to be that way! As soon as it gets warm, I gladly choose a bike over other means of transport – and I don't give up skirts or dresses then. How to put together cycling outfits so that you can cycle comfortably even in skirts and dresses? Read on!
Composing cycling outfits with dresses and skirts should start with... the bike itself. The key to success is to raise the saddle as high as possible – so that the wind doesn't blow up the edges of the skirt, but rather "presses" the fabric against your legs. The second important issue is the length of the skirt itself – for cycling outfits, it's better to avoid mini-lengths, which will be uncomfortable and make you feel uneasy. The best length is midi-length – to the knee or slightly below the knee. Maxi dresses or skirts can get caught in the chain or spokes, so it's also worth avoiding them – unless the length reaches mid-calf – then you can safely wear it.
The third tip is... tights for cycling. Even if the wind blows the skirt up a bit too high, you still have a piece of fabric covering you. Cycling tights should be relatively thin and breathable – so they don't cause discomfort. And that's it – you're ready to go! Below, I present three sets that, in my opinion, are great for city riding and guarantee a stylish look – regardless of the circumstances or... the strength of the wind.
Dress for cycling with patterned tights
As I mentioned earlier, a dress for cycling should be knee-length or slightly below the knee – this will prevent it from riding up. Its cut is arbitrary – it's important that it's not too tight, as it may restrict movement. An ideal choice would be a summer cycling dress made of breathable material – viscose, cotton, or linen. As an accessory, thin patterned tights will work well – discreet dots or hearts will make the whole outfit look very stylish and romantic. You can also opt for openwork tights, which will ensure comfortable riding and be breathable at the same time. For a cycling outfit, you need comfortable shoes – espadrilles will be perfect!

A skirt for cycling? Why not!
In addition to a cycling dress, I also highly recommend skirts – preferably those cut from a full or half circle, which drape beautifully both when walking and when cycling. It's worth choosing cycling skirts made of slightly heavier materials – thick cotton or jacquard – so that the wind isn't able to lift the fabric. A high-waisted cycling skirt will look great with a tight bodysuit or a loose, pastel cotton shirt. The whole look will be completed by low pumps with straps wrapping around the foot, which will give the cycling outfit a timeless character. A fashionable woven basket and patterned tights will match this. Done!

Tights for cycling and skorts – the perfect combination!
If a cycling dress doesn't quite convince you, you can opt for safe... skorts. This is a good solution for women who don't feel entirely confident cycling in skirts and dresses. Such a piece of clothing is extremely comfortable and allows you to feel at ease, while still looking like a cycling skirt. The floral model below will look great with patterned tights resembling over-the-knee socks, lilac sneakers, stylish sunglasses, and a simple, classic T-shirt. In the case of shorts that look like a cycling skirt, we don't have to worry about their length anymore, so you can choose from really short models – to fully showcase beautiful patterned tights. A comfortable cycling outfit is ready!
