Waistband – in terms of waistbands, models are divided into non-compressive and compressive – tummy-control tights. Shaping tights allow for quick figure improvement, making them an ideal choice, especially for special occasions. Unfortunately, slimming tights are not the most comfortable – for everyday wear, opt for traditional models. The wider the waistband, the more comfortable it is, which is why tummy-control tights often have a comfortable, wide waistband that provides gentle shaping. Specialized anti-varicose vein tights or push-up tights are modern models with shaping or health benefits.
Panty part – although panty-less tights are versatile and can be worn with cut-out dresses or short shorts, it should be remembered that the panty part is not only additional reinforcement but also protection from the cold. The panties in tights also protect against snags.
Gusset – the gusset in tights is an element that covers the buttocks and intimate areas. It is mainly used to strengthen coverage in these areas, although its use also allows for increased elasticity and durability of the tights. Usually, the larger the size, the larger the gusset; some models have a double gusset.
Seams – seamless tights are considered an ideal complement to outfits with tight dresses. Seamless tights are considered elegant and luxurious. Seamed tights, on the other hand, are a proposal for all lovers of retro fashion. They are specially styled like stockings and have a vertical seam running along the entire length of the leg. Such a seam beautifully slims and elongates the legs, so it's no wonder women from the post-World War II period – when nylon became a luxury item – cleverly drew seams on their legs. Retro-style tights are perfect as an addition to wide dresses and full skirts.
Reinforcements – as the name suggests, they are designed to strengthen the tights and protect against snags. They are located in the foot area, because the toe part is most prone to snags; thanks to the reinforcement, a run will not go further, so it is worth choosing such a reinforced model. Additional reinforcement in the heel area will also provide protection, which is why models with reinforcements are recommended for thinner, more delicate tights worn daily. Planning to wear open-toed shoes? You don't have to give up tights – choose a model with invisible reinforcement or no reinforcement (but then you have to be very careful!).
Cuffs – hidden under this mysterious name are decorative bands that finish stockings. In the case of self-supporting stockings, there are silicone strips inside that keep the stockings on the legs, while with classic stockings – the cuffs are used to attach them to a garter belt. Decorative cuffs are exceptionally feminine and sexy, especially since they usually remain hidden from outsiders. If you want to keep this element, but at the same time cannot imagine wearing stockings, you also have several interesting options with specially made prints imitating a cuff.
