What coffee to choose to suit our needs?
Where does the best coffee come from? What kind should you choose to enjoy its full flavor and aroma? Is Italian coffee the best coffee? Today I would like to tell you about the origin of coffee and why it is worth choosing specific varieties and testing new flavors. Happy reading!
Many people believe that the best coffee is Italian coffee – and it's not surprising. Italians have an incredibly strong coffee-drinking culture – it is even considered a national tradition. Unfortunately, neither Robusta nor Arabica (the two existing varieties in the world) grow in sunny Italy, and the properties of coffee are determined not only by the skills of employees of the best roasteries located in Italy, but also by the origin of the coffee.
The origin of coffee is a factor that gives it certain taste and aromatic properties. Generally speaking, coffee bushes grow in the so-called coffee belt – an area located between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. How does this define their taste? Coffee originating from the Americas (Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala) guarantees a classic, distinct, somewhat nutty and chocolatey taste. In turn, beans grown in central Africa (Kenya, Ethiopia) will be much lighter in taste than American coffee, slightly more acidic (but not sour) with a fruity-floral aroma. Coffees from Asia are the least popular, due to their woody-earthy aroma. However, they have their ardent fans!

Coffee roasting – the process that gives beans their aroma
Collecting coffee beans and shelling the precious beans is only part of the journey coffee must take to reach our cups as a beverage. The collected and dried green beans are packed in jute bags and transported to coffee roasteries – including those in Italy. And this is where we get to what Italian cities are famous for, which is the art of coffee roasting. In sunny Italy, there are many such establishments, most often run by entire families. Why is Italian coffee considered the best in the world? Because coffee roasting has a long tradition in this country, nurtured from generation to generation. It is there that we will find the best specialists, who have a vast knowledge and can extract as much flavor and aroma as possible from raw beans.
Why is Italian coffee considered the best in the world? Because the roasteries there roast the beans very strongly, which results in a distinct and incredibly aromatic espresso when brewed, which is the basis for many other coffees. Italians also love other versions of this drink - with frothed milk, whipped cream, and various additions. The most important thing, however, is that the basic espresso is strong and distinct - that's why Italian coffee is considered the best in the world.

Famous Italian coffee – Lavazza
Luigi Lavazza became a true pioneer who popularized Italian coffee worldwide. At over 30 years old, he bought a small grocery store where he started selling various items – from olive oil to coffee. And it was Italian coffee that became the product that brought him fame and allowed him to amass a considerable fortune.
How did he achieve such great success? He was one of the first Italians to blend beans from two coffee varieties: Arabica and Robusta. This allowed him to appeal to customers' tastes. In addition, he created various blends that were prepared on request. As a result, the fan base for his Italian coffee constantly grew.
In 1910, Lavazza introduced his three sons to the principles of running a business, who later modernized coffee production. During this period, Lavazza coffee was already recognizable throughout Turin, and after 1925 – it also reached beyond its hometown, thanks to the invention of airtight packaging. Later, Italian coffee also conquered Europe, eventually entering the American and Australian markets after 1980.
Currently, Lavazza coffee is known almost all over the world, and is regularly sold in over 90 countries. This Italian coffee is sold in several varieties, although the most popular are Qualita Rossa and Qualita Oro, meaning red and gold varieties, which differ in that the gold is 100% Arabica, and the red is a blend of Robusta and Arabica.
